The Charmong Beutiful Indian actress Asin Thottumkal was born October 26, 1985 to his father, Joseph Thottumkal entrepreneur and surgeon mother Seline Thottumkal. Asin is quoted as saying that his name means 'pure and undefiled'. She argues that the 'A' in its name comes from the Sanskrit word meaning 'without' and 'sin' is Italian.
Asin went to school and then attended the Naval Public School S. Teresa in Kochi for its completion. Asin got her BA in English literature at the College of St. Teresa (affiliated with the University MG) for women in Kochi.
Asin made her debut in the film industry at the tender age of 15, in a supporting role in Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. After a year to complete his education, Asin returned to the big screen with the film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, protraying a Tamil girl in her first Telugu film. The film was a huge success and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress Asin Telugu.
In the same year Asin got another award (Best Actress Award Santhosham), for his second Telugu film Shivamani.
Asin entered the Tamil film industry to reprise his role in the Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, this time playing a girl malayi instead of Tamil girl in the original. The film went onto become one of the biggest hits of Tamil cinema in 2004.
